Discover the hidden charm of Southern Laos in this either half-day or full day tour, which encompasses visits to the famous temple ruins and a affords you time to explore quaint colonial towns.

You start with a short walking city tour of Pakse, focusing on remnants from the French colonial period, before transferring by road (following the Mekong) to Wat Phou. Recorded on the UNESCO World Heritage List, Wat Phou with its atmosphere is a pre-angkorian temples built upon three levels. When the temple was erected, it became the most important economic and political centre in the region. The lower level is focused on the baray (water reservoir) and the promenade to join the second level with the galleries and the quadrangular pavilions. The upper level is the sanctuary itself.

After your visit, head on to Champassak, for lunch and to see more examples of French colonial architecture, before crossing the Mekong to reach the main road to get back to Pakse or your hotel.
