Just a little way out of town, but within walking distance of the bustling morning market (which is well worth exploring), is the Green Park Hotel. Built in spacious tranquil gardens dotted with ponds, this is a stylish and chic hotel with a boutique feel, though offering more facilities than any of the other hotels in Vientiane. There is a swimming pool, a business centre, a gym and a very popular spa – all modest by international standards but somewhat unique in Vientiane!
The 34 rooms and suites are all very contemporary in design and fitted with all the luxuries you would expect, such as air-conditioning, cable TV, wireless internet connection and in-room safes. The rooms all have either a balcony or terrace with views to the private garden or swimming pool. However, this abundance of facilities does is not go on to suggest this property lacks any charm – the public areas are rather funky, but at the same time you will always know you are in Laos due to the local art work and artistic touches that abound.
The restaurant serves good quality Lao, Thai and international dishes and lighter meals are available from the lounge all complimented by a decent wine selection and cocktail list. The Green Park is well located, has wonderful rooms and, for what it is, probably represents best value for money place to stay in the capital.
