Perched on the banks of the Mekong River and not too far to the centre of atmospheric Pak Beng, this new hotel offers accommodation of a reasonable standard for those who don’t want to stay out of town at Luang Say Lodge.
The low-rise 30 room property is without too many frills, but it is stylishly built in a traditional Lao style, with wide clay-tiled corridors and rosewood floors & beams. Each room is spacious and have terraces offering panoramic views over the Mekong. Additionaly, the open-sided restaurant serves excellent Lao and western food and there is a small bar which will offer, for many, a first taste of the game-changing Beer Lao!
Pak Beng is an ideal starting point for walks in to the surrounding forest and villages, and it is worth considering staying an extra night to soak up the atmosphere of this charming part of Laos.
